Perth Flower Club opened their new season with their AGM followed by an excellent demonstration from Hetty Redwood. Hetty’s title was “Wonder of Flowers” with the story of Constance Frys life and her love of roses. Hetty was in her usual sparkling form in spite of having a heavy cold, and she soon had the company in stitches, her flowers mainly roses were beautiful. Always good value for money and always welcome at Perth Flower Club.
Perth Flower Club held an open Christmas workshop. Margo Kettles and Mary Ritchie were the demonstrators.
Our last demonstrator for the year was Mrs Moira Trumbull. All who know Moira will know how much fun she is. She had us in stitches all evening with her tips on Christmas - my favourite one was to wrap up a battery in some pretty paper with a note saying "Present not Included". Moira’s title for the demonstration was “Twas the Night before Christmas”. Moira with one of her arrangements below.
November Meeting - It's a Cracker!
Here we have Jillian Garrow with her modest little Christmas cracker, one of her arrangements from her title "Festive Flair". Jill kept us entertained with her exploits of falling off a ladder, breaking her ankle and toes - happily now fully recovered. It's not easy being a flower arranger. As always Jill's flowers and foliage were beautiful. Haste ye back Jill!
The demonstrator for the October meeting was Rosalind Stewart from Troon. Rosalind took us on a Journey Through Flowers of all the places that held a special meaning to her, from the country she was born in to the place where her husband proposed, all accompanied by a poem and lots of funny stories.
Flower Festival with Dunbarney and Forgandenny Church
Perth Flower Club ladies have been very busy with the recent Flower Festival held in conjunction with the Dunbarney and Forgandenny Church. However, as I'm sure you'll agree from the pictures below, it was well worth all the hard work. Beautiful flowers and a tremendous fund raising effort too. Well done ladies!
